CLUB DUES

A balance everyone can follow.

Record charges, payments made outside Causey and waivers in a private club ledger. Keep the original record and a clear history when something needs correcting.

  • Staff can filter outstanding charges and inspect their history.
  • Approved parents see only their currently linked child’s balance.
  • Reverse a mistaken payment or waiver without rewriting the original amount.

A few things to know.

Can I start a club myself?
Yes. Create a coach account and a club workspace, then invite your roster. Schools and districts have a separate setup process.
How do parent messages work?
An approved adult parent can talk with authorized adult club staff about a linked child. These are private club conversations, with no student direct messaging or parent group chats.
What chess tournaments can I run?
Free, unrated events with manual, round-robin or FIDE Dutch 2026 Swiss pairings. Causey does not submit rated reports. Optional US Chess member lookup requires provider setup; manual IDs remain unverified.
Can we show lessons, prices and scholarships?
Yes. Add lessons and programs to your club listing with schedules, age or grade guidance, prices and scholarship information. Changes go through listing review. A missing price asks families to contact your club; listing a price does not collect payment.
Does Causey collect payments?
Eligible for-profit competitions can use Causey payments after account setup and event approval. Hosts receive 88%; Causey’s 12% includes Stripe processing, with no added surcharge. Free events have no host fee. Club dues remain external payments recorded in a manual ledger.

Chess has the most complete public competition directory today. Other categories use the club tools with thinner coverage. Photographs are illustrative, not Causey customers.
