The service

Causey helps people discover competitions and lets authorized organizations manage rosters, invitations, RSVPs, attendance, and aggregate reports. Coverage is incomplete. Listings, fees, eligibility, dates, pathways, and locations may be wrong or out of date. Verify the event details and follow its current entry instructions. Some events offer entry through Causey; others use the organizer’s official registration website.

Accounts and authority

Provide accurate information, protect sign-in credentials, and use only the access assigned to you. Public self-signup and direct use of the phone app are for ages 13 and up. Students under 13 may activate a website login through prior school authorization and student provisioning, or through reviewed parent or guardian consent. School-authorized use is limited to that school’s educational purpose; a class code alone is not authorization to create a younger child’s account. School and class enrollment can take place after account activation. Parents may also keep a younger child’s profile managed without a child login. Provide an accurate date of birth. Causey does not independently verify ages and does not sell an under-13 paid cohort. Staff may add students or act for an organization only when the school, district, club, student, or family has authorized them to do so.

Acceptable use

• Do not impersonate another person or organization.
• Do not upload unlawful content, misuse student information, probe another account, or bypass access controls.
• Do not scrape, overload, or disrupt Causey or use it to send unsolicited messages.
• Organizers are responsible for the accuracy and authority of information they publish.
• The iOS and Android apps are the same service as the website. They are for ages 13 and up, not a kids app. Parents, coaches, competition hosts and students 13 or older can create an account. Eligible adults may pay for reviewed in-person competition entry when that flow is enabled for their app platform. Payment and organizer registration may open an external site.

Content safety and reporting

Causey has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Do not publish harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual exploitation, pornography, or content that endangers children. These rules apply to event and club listings, images, profiles, and any other content you submit. Causey may remove violating content and suspend or terminate accounts responsible for abuse.

Public event submissions and edits undergo automated text, image and link checks. Content may be held for review or returned with requested changes. Automated checks can make mistakes; contact Support to ask for a human review.

Use the report action on an event or club, or contact us through Help and support. Signed-in users can block eligible publishers and manage their blocked publishers in Support. Blocking controls what you see; it does not replace a report to Causey. We review reports and take appropriate action on content or accounts that violate these rules.

Competition payments

When enabled for an eligible for-profit competition, Causey collects registration payments through Stripe. The host receives 88% of the registration amount. Causey retains 12% and pays Stripe processing from that share, with no additional processing surcharge. Free events have no host fee. This is not a workspace subscription or club-dues collection service. School and district agreements remain separate.

Review the amount, event details and host terms before paying. Payment availability depends on provider eligibility, account setup and event approval. A checkout return or pending payment does not confirm entry; check your Causey payment status and confirmed entry. Contact the organizer or Causey Support about cancellation or a refund. An approved full refund remains pending until its status is confirmed. External registration providers have their own payment and refund terms.

District and school pilots

A school or district pilot requires written approval and a separate agreement covering scope, support, student-data instructions, retention, security review, and any commercial terms. Public pages do not create a district contract or promise a particular price, service level, or compliance status.

Content and external services

Causey owns its product and original content. Organizers retain responsibility for information they submit and grant Causey permission to display and process it to operate the service. External organizer sites, registration systems, and source directories have their own terms.

Availability and enforcement

Causey may change, pause, restrict, or discontinue early-build features. Access may be suspended for security, legal, safety, or misuse concerns. The service is provided as available, without a promise that every feature or listing will be complete or uninterrupted.
