Progress from local MATHCOUNTS competition toward state and national selection.

Who it’s for: Students in grades 6–8

Ask your school coach about registration, or check the non-school competitor rules.

School selection
The coach selects school competitors; an eligible non-school competitor follows the separate entry rules.
Chapter competition
Registered students compete locally; qualifying students advance to State.
State competition
State results determine the students selected for Nationals.
National competition
Selected students compete individually and as a state team.

Before you commit: School selection is at the coach’s discretion; non-school competitors advance individually rather than on a school team.
